Vinyl Pressing: Auburn Lull – Alone I Admire
New vinyl pressing! Auburn Lull’s classic debut now available on vinyl for the first time. Originally released on Burnt Hair Records in March, 1999, this reissue marks the 20th anniversary of Darla’s CD reissue in February, 2002.
Auburn Lull was formed in the mid-90s by four rural mid-Michigan teens with their ears tuned to the overseas sounds of Slowdive, Seefeel, The Verve, Eno, and Flying Saucer Attack, to name just a few. The band quickly became associated with other like-minded Michigan bands, particularly Mahogany, with whom they split their recorded debut The Dual Group EP on the now legendary Burnt Hair Records in 1997. Released in 1999 to critical acclaim, Alone I Admire was the band’s first full-length and remains the band’s touchstone. Though their recorded output comes at a snail’s pace, Auburn Lull continue to evolve, surprise, and push their sound into uncharted territory.

Vinyl Pressing: Loren Connors – 9th Avenue
New vinyl pressing: Utterly wailing “solos” over a base of thick distorted guitars, Loren Connors’ music conjures up scenes of lonely streets, dark nights, but also hopeful and joyful mornings. 9th Avenue is the first vinyl reissue of a CD Loren released on his Black Label in 1995, a view into his mid-90’s heavier electric guitar era, back when he was going by his Loren Mazzacane Connors moniker.
9th Avenue fits right alongside releases from that same time period, such as Long Nights (Table of the Elements) and Crucible (Black Label, with his partner Suzanne Langille), as well as his collaborations with Alan Licht, Keiji Haino, and MMMR (group featuring Jean-Marc Montera, Thurston Moore, and Lee Ranaldo).
The LP consists of 11 pieces, ranging from heavy bottom-end distortion with overlaid single-note airiness, to multi-layered dirge, to washed/phased out vignettes, to single note story-telling delicateness, all with a particular sound that makes you feel like you’re in the next room. With more than 100 releases, Loren is a singular and unique force in the cannon of American experimental guitar players.

Cleveland indie artist Holden Laurence released his new six song EP, Floating, Drifting, on October 1, 2021. Floating, Drifting examines the dissonance between the white-washed American Dream and the reality of modern life in the US. Holden meditates on mortality, emotional and political manipulation through social media, family heirlooms of hatred and prejudice, and the impending consequences of our actions on humanity and the environment.

Healing Together is a benefit compilation for mental health recovery featuring 23 ambient-electronic artists from around the world.
Recognizing that music is a bridge to normalizing conversations about the challenges people are going through, each artist was prompted to create a song that would help someone with mental health struggles know they’re not alone. This sprouted into a collection of ambient music holding space for the many emotional landscapes we experience as humans.
Healing Together features new compositions specially prepared for the compilation from the incredible line-up of women artists Nailah Hunter, Penelope Trappes, Clarice Jensen, Drum & Lace, Sofie Birch, Hollie Kenniff, Clariloops, more eaze, Ami Dang, Karen Vogt, Patricia Wolf, Zoe Polanski, Sachi Kobayashi, Christina Giannone, Ai Yamamoto, Cat Tyson Hughes, IKSRE, Inquiri, Belly Full of Stars, Claire Deak, Pechblende, Caminuata and marine eyes.
This is the 3rd benefit compilation from Past Inside The Present and the first to be released on vinyl. Cynthia Bernard (marine eyes) curated, sequenced, and provided album art for the compilation marking her first project with PITP since joining the team in Spring.

Everything about this album is iconic, from its ‘quick draw’ cover art to the songs it contains ‘Big Iron,’ ‘Cool Water,’ ‘The Master’s Call,’ ‘Billy the Kid,’ ‘The Strawberry Roan,’ and, of course, ‘El Paso’ (here in its rare, full-length version)’ that have come to define the Western genre. The music has never sounded better than it does here: this clear with black ‘gunsmoke’ swirl pressing was remastered from the original tapes by Vic Anesini at Battery Studios in New York with lacquers cut by Clint Holley and Dave Polster at Well Made Music. Height albums have been constantly changing since his self-titled debut was released in 2000. Bed Of Seeds is guitar-based garage rap. Height With Friends Versus Dynamic Sounds retraces the steps of The Cold Crush Brothers and The Fantastic Five. Mind Moves The Mountain merged minimal raps with post-punk beats. The Height catalog is ever-changing, but is intended to stand as one body of work.
