Record Highlight — You Blew It!

Posted in For The Record | by Matt Earley | No Comments »

You Blew It! might be one of the last great hold-outs in the emo revival that took over the last decade. More sane than Algernon Cadwallader, less sonically-spacious than Cap’n Jazz, YBI! cherrypicks from 90’s emo and indie in a fashion that many have aimed for but few have achieved. These cat-loving, taco-eating dudes have been holding it down in their native Orlando scene since February 2009. Since then, they’ve had enough lineup changes to see something like twelve members come and go all while completing four out-of-state tours and a few notable gigs with The Get Up Kids.

The brand new album from You Blew It!, Grow Up, Dude is the band's debut full length. Featuring twelve new tracks, the first pressing is out of 500 and split between 75 clear w/ green splatter, 100 opaque green, 125 white, 200 Black.  Pre-order is up now with Topshelf Records!

Customer Highlight — The Clippers

An Evening With...7" is the first music ever recorded by The Clippers. Released originally on a 3" CD and now on a 7 inch record. Featuring 5 amazing tracks that should be required summer listening. The first pressing of this record is limited to 500 7 inches and split between 100 Orange/Yellow Split colored vinyl, 125 White, and 275 Green/Black records. The records are going extremely fast (much like the summer itself), so hit up Top Shelf Records to grab one of these limited edition records before they are gone!

Ripped straight from the pages of David Blaine’s secret magic book, comes the music stylings of The Clippers. Born in September twenty ten, this two piece outfit came together and began cheers-ing their way through Allston, MA. Their high energy pop rock has brought sophistication and sexual feeling back to basement shows and venues everywhere.

Customer Highlight — Big Kids

The respected Topshelf Records and Protagonist Music teamed up to put the debut LP from Oakland's own Big Kids.  A special package including a t-shirt is available from Topshelf.  Special multi-colored wax is available from Protagonist Music.

According to Protagonist, "This record is be 9 tracks that capture the bliss of playing music with your good friends, touring in a shitty van, playing killer house shows, and seeing life through the prism of punk rock. Melodies and dirt, sing-alongs and feedback, relationships and ideas...all are represented here".
